Hello! I'm Lou (they/them), a multi-disciplinary artist based in East London.
I'm interested in bewilderment, gender deviance, and absurdity as strategies for re-worlding. I like combining performance art practices with flaneur-adjacent habits to create the conditions for strangers to connect, awkwardness to be encouraged and failure to be re-framed as an artform.
I collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary artists including Sweet Beef Collective, Clara Potter Sweet (Emergency Chorus), Trash Salad, Kendra Miller & Shrinking Violet Collective. I regularly perform as one half of Easy Ryan High, who make panic-driven air-hostess content for clubs and cabarets including Duckie, Riposte, VFD & the Glory. I am mentored by the award winning Clod Ensemble.
I have made or shared work at venues including the NOW Gallery, Camden People's Theatre, Omnibus, Curve Theatre, Slung Low, Tramshed, CAST, Partisan, Summerhall and Pleasance.
I am a Fringe producing assistant at Summerhall, Edinburgh currently supporting the selection of the VAULT award 2023.
I have written about live and digital performance for This is Tomorrow, The List and the Sunday Times.
